The Lift and Electrical Manager role is a senior, compliance-driven position. The postholder oversees the safety, maintenance, and modernization of passenger lifts, escalators, and electrical systems across property portfolios. Core Responsibilities
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all assets comply with LOLER, BS EN 81, and statutory electrical regulations. Act as the named "responsible person" for mechanical and electrical safety.
- Contract Management: Manage and monitor external lift and electrical contractors. Ensure KPIs are met, conduct regular site audits, and review insurance and engineering inspection reports.
- Budget & Project Oversight: Forecast and control budgets for day-to-day repairs, routine servicing, and major capital modernization projects.
- Breakdown & Incident Response: Coordinate response teams for lift entrapments and electrical emergencies.
Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with residents, building occupants, and internal leadership regarding service standards and planned works.
Essential Qualifications & Requirements
- Technical Qualifications: An NVQ Level 3 in Lift & Escalator Engineering, or a recognized electrical/mechanical engineering equivalent.
- Industry Experience: Extensive background in the lift and escalator industry with prior supervisory or team-management experience.
- Compliance Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of UK lifting and electrical legislation, plus a working understanding of the Building Safety Act.
- Soft Skills: Strong project management, commercial negotiation, and IT
